Notre histoire Notre histoire

How did you come into contact with contemporary art ?

I remember in my nursery there was a poster of Vasarely hanging. I must have been about twelve when I got it, I was intrigued by these geometric shapes and colors so well ordered. It was in the seventies and this kinetic art was in vogue.

Where did you train ?

When I was young, I worked in the Grands Boulevards district and very quickly during lunch hour I began to frequent the Hotel Drouot. This is where I learned my trade, watching auctions.
I started to acquire works according to my modest means.
I got caught up in the game.

" It is a story of family and
love for art and artists
that continues "

How did you come to become a gallery owner ?

Little by little in the 80s thanks to meetings of artists and people recognized in the profession, I became an international exhibition curator for great artists like Antoine Bourdelle or Messagier, Bernard Buffet and Vasarely, like a A nod to my childhood!
And one thing leading to another, in the 90s, I decided to open my first gallery near Place St Michel, quai des Grands Augustins.

A few years later, I met my partner Olivier W., enlightened lover of contemporary art, together we decided to open a gallery in Belgium in Knokke le Zoute on the sea wall opposite by the sea. The choice of our artists hit the mark and very quickly, this gallery became a friendly and unmissable place on the Belgian coast.
To continue our adventure, we decided to open a new gallery on the French Riviera in Nice.

This is our new challenge and we are very excited.
It is with joy that my daughter Léa decides to join the adventure. It is a story of family and love of art and artists which continues.

Which artists do you favor ?

From the outset, I would say living artists.
Artists we love, with whom we have real relationships and exchanges. We can defend them because we understand their message. Artists who live in their time.

And how do you see the future?

The arrival of social networks has forced us to think about new ways of working.
Leasing and bringing together companies seems to be a new approach that we will favor.
